Ch 5 · Feedback & Control Systems · Theory

Topic 5 of 8 in Automated Systems, Robotics & Control — 2 lessons.

The Feedback Loop

The key idea in control is feedback: the system's action changes the environment, which the sensors then re-measure — so the system self-corrects. Turning the heater on raises the temperature, which the sensor reads next time, which eventually turns the heater off.

A Closed-Loop Simulation

Watch a closed-loop controller drive temperature toward its target using feedback.
