Topic 1 of 7 in The Software Development Life Cycle — 2 lessons.
Software Isn't Just "Coding"
Writing real software is far more than typing code. Professionals follow a development life cycle — a set of stages that take a problem from an idea to a maintained, working product. Skipping stages is how projects fail.
Analysis: Defining the Problem
Analysis decides *what* the system must do before anyone writes code. It gathers requirements (functional — what it does; and non-functional — speed, security, usability), studies any existing system, and produces a specification everyone agrees on.
